Ahmad Alamolhoda, the Friday Prayer Imam of Mashhad, has taken various stances regarding cyberspace and the internet. He has repeatedly warned against the liberalization of cyberspace and unrestricted internet use, considering it a threat to the country's culture and security. For example, in remarks made in 2014, Alamolhoda stated that the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic ordered that high-speed internet should not be used in Iran. Additionally, during the Friday prayers sermon in Mashhad in 2019, Alamolhoda criticized the liberalization of cyberspace, blaming it for spreading corruption and immorality.
