Shahriari
Hamid Shahriari has served as an individual member of the Supreme Council of Cyberspace since March 8, 2012, by order of Ali Khamenei. Since 2019, he has been the Secretary General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, and is also regarded as the second and final secretary of the Supreme Information Council, serving from March 2006 to July 2016. The Supreme Information Council was a policymaking body in Iran's information and communication technology sector, with a direct role in internet censorship and filtering. The council was established in 1998 by the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution to create policy for, supervise, and coordinate activities related to information dissemination and the development of the country's information technology.
