Between 2014 and 2016, Javad Babaei led a project called “Spider,” which aimed to take legal action against individuals accused—according to Iranian media—of promoting un-Islamic fashion. In just one phase of this initiative, known as “Spider 2,” 170 people involved in managing modeling pages were identified, judicial cases were opened for 29 of them, eight were arrested, and the rest were summoned for questioning.
